Mark Russell, the new editor of the Orlando Sentinel.

Mark Russell has been named as the new editor of the Orlando Sentinel in Florida.

Russell was previously the paper’s managing editor and served as Master of Ceremonies during the initial Parity Project town hall there between Orlando-area Hispanic community leaders and the Sentinel’s editorial staff.

Among the accomplishments of the Sentinel in its relations with the diverse Hispanic population of central Florida is its establishment of the HispanoSphere blog.

That blog is the brainchild of NAHJ member and Orlando Sentinel writer Víctor Manuel Ramos and was launched shortly after the follow-up Parity Project town hall there in 2008.
