From NAHJ memb. Jacob Rascon/Salt Lake Tribune: Utah woman nationally recognized for work with troubled teens.

NAHJ member Jacob Rascon, who is a multimedia journalism student at Brigham Young University, reports for the Salt Lake Tribune on the efforts of Provo, Utah resident Lorrin Gehring to help troubled teens.

Rascon reports that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has granted Gehring its Young Adult Leadership Award for mental health advocacy.

Jacob is serving a Fall 2010 internship at the Salt Lake Tribune as an NAHJ-funded intern. NAHJ is able to provide this opportunity through a generous grant from the Chicago Tribune Foundation. He is the tenth NAHJ student member to be helped through this opportunity since 2004.
